Abstract

The characteristics of Islamic politics are always related to moral or moral goals, such as trustworthiness, honesty, truth in words and deeds, and justice. However, the reality is that politics in Indonesia is still coloured by various concerning problems, such as the rise of money politics and identity politics, which deviate from the political ethics taught by Ibn Taimiyah. This research aims to identify strategies taught by Ibn Taimiyah that are still relevant in overcoming current political conditions. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach. The strategies that are considered still relevant according to Ibn Taimiyah's views to deal with contemporary problems include upholding the principles of tawhid and justice, the application of sharia in politics, law enforcement and sanctions, da'wah and political education, and the active role of society and leaders
